A Card Re-Created

I was checking my blog this morning and found out that Cath over at  Moxie Fab World gave me a shout out. Thank you Cath..what an honor and a great way to start my Friday!

With one co-worker moving away there was a shift of several others. One of the girls in my office is being moved to the office across town. They had a little "going" away party for her at work. Being the official go to person when a card is needed I was asked to make one for her. She has this thing for leaves. It's really kinda scary...haha. She loves them. A few weeks ago I made this card for my aunt and uncle. I decided to re-create this card but to make it more feminine. To do this I used pink instead of green on the leaves. It gives the card a totally different feel. They remind me of the flowers on a dogwood tree.

ColourQ #130

Happy Wednesday to all of you. The colors this week over at ColourQ are so bright and cheerful. Don't they just yell spring? And let me tell you, I'm so ready for it. We have had non-stop rain for the past few days. As much as we need the rain..I'm ready for some sunshine.

 Here is my card.

Saying Good Luck To My Friend

This week one of my co-workers will be leaving us and moving to Texas. We have worked together for several years and she will be missed. The card I made her was inspired by this beautiful one by Dana. When I started stamping the butterflies all of a sudden I had this great idea. I was going to make one flying away...her. I wanted her butterfly to stand out from the rest so I stamped it in a bright color. I stamped a second one and cut it out and attached it in the middle so I could pop the wings up. I think it turned out pretty darn cute!

Retro Sketches #4

Happy Monday to all of you. If you follow my blog you know that I play along with the weekly ColourQ challenge on a pretty regular basis. Arielle recently started another challege blog called Retro Sketches. This time it's a sketch challenge each week instead of a colour challange. I'm always looking for a good sketch and you can find them here. This is the sketch for this week.

Here is my card.

The Bold & The Beautiful

That's the theme this week over at CAS-ual Fridays. The challenge this week is to create a card using a pastel color and black. I'm a big fan of any color with black. I think it makes a stricking color combo. Just look in my closet :) lots and lots of black.

So here is what I came up with. I went with green for my pastel because that's my other favorite color.

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

ColourQ #129

I'm back today with my card for this weeks ColourQ challenge. Once again they gave me colours I would have never put together.

Here is my card. My sister-in-law has a birthday coming up next week. Even thought I have a ton of cards already made, I wanted to make her one with the pull out. She loves bright colours so this worked out perfect...got my challenge card and birthday card done in one shot :)

I Can Do Bright

Happy Friday to all of you. I thought I would stop in and post a card a made awhile back. I was looking through my card stash the other day. I noticed I didn't have any "bright" cards. I tend to stay more on the subtle side with my colors. So here is a nice bright card that I created to add to my stash:)

See you soon.

Seeing Green

Hello everyone...I'm back today with my card for this weeks ColourQ #128 challenge. Green is my favorite color so I was excited to see lots of green this week. That was until I sat down and started working with these colors. There are a lot of different shades going on here. I struggled with getting the Glorious Green color to work. I don't normally use bright colors so I had to play around for awhile..okay..a long while..haha.

Here is what I finally came up with. I managed to get all those green shades in there. I love this background set from PTI. There are so many different looks you can get just by changing the colors. It's hard to see in the picture but I added a score line under the sentiment..just a little something extra.
Thanks for stopping by.

For My Brother

I'm back today with a card for a happy occasion. Today my brother celebrated 9 years cancer free! My mom calls the day of our last treatments our second birthdays (in November I will celebrate 24 years cancer free).

Here is the card I made him...fun and bright and definitely a celebration card.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I'll see you soon.

Gone Too Soon

It's been 11 years today since my cousin Aaron lost his life to a drunk driver at the young age of 21. His family moved to PA when he was about 5. We live in OR so I only saw him one time after they moved, so I never really knew him well.  My heart just aches for my aunt and uncle and their two daughters. As a parent of a beautiful daughter that will turn 21 this year..I can't even begin to imagine her being taken from my life.

Aaron...gone too soon. Please don't drink and drive.

Here is the card I made for my aunt and uncle.

It's ColourQ Time

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday. I spent some time this morning with my daughter doing some wedding things. At this point we're just trying to get an idea of what she wants and how to get it all within her given budget. I'm not sure if we made any headway or not...haha.

Well I'm here with my card for this weeks ColourQ challenge. As always they have given us a palette of beautiful colors. I love coral and brown together..so pretty.

So the last couple of ColorQ challenges I was determined to not use flowers on my cards. That didn't work this week. I had to use my new Pretty Peonies set from PTI.

I don't even know if they come in this color...but they sure are pretty. I fussy cut the flowers..love doing this. You might think I'm weird but I find it relaxing. I attached one flower right to the card and the other one I attached with my favorite dots.

See you soon,

I thought I would stop in really quick and post a card I made a couple of weeks ago. I really liked the colors for the ColourQ #125 challenge. Here is another card I made using these great colors. I think this could pass as a guy card..what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Oops..We're A Little Late

Okay, so we were at my brother-in-law's and soon to be sister-in-law's house last night for dinner. It was very yummy by the way :) I knew Eva's birthday was close to my husbands and his was a few weeks ago. Well...it was February 3rd. We thought it was in March. Talk about feeling bad. I knew I had to make her a birthday card even if it is a month late.

This was my first chance to use this set. These flowers are so fun to color. I'm seeing this set becoming a favorite really fast.
And here is the pull out. I think we're more the a bit late. I know I won't be late next year that's for sure.

See you soon.

Another Set

Happy Friday..well for a little longer anyways. I'm stopping in with a quick post for my latest card set. For this one I used the butterfly in PTI's Pretty Peonies set. What a beautiful image.

I stamped the butterflies on the card base then stamped them again on a separate piece of paper and cut them out. When I attached the cut out butterfly to the card I only put the adhesive on the body. Then I gently pulled the wings up...love this effect.

The butterfly is symmetrical so I stamped the backs of them too.
