Sunflower Rejects

Happy Sunday blog friends. I hope you are all enjoying your day. It's been another beautiful weekend here. That means yard work and more yard work. Today we're going to do some planting. The first few sunny weekends kill me..but I'm so happy to see the sun.

I wanted to stop in before heading outside for the day and post a card I made a couple of weeks ago. As you know, I've been going through my scraps and rejects and trying to use them up. This is another card I made using my rejects. I stamped these sunflowers and then never used them.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.

ColourQ #134

Happy Tuesday. It's time for this weeks Colour Q.

Here is my card. What a fun way to let that special friend know you want to get together.
These tea cups are so fun and easy to stack. Think of all the different color combos you could do. You can't see it in the photo very well, but I added texture to the Vintage Cream cardstock with my favorite Linen and Canvas Impression Plate from PTI.
Here  you can see how I layered the card. You all know how much I love to add dimension to my cards.

The Play Date Cafe 128

Is it just me or did that weekend go by really fast? We had amazing weather after weeks of rain. We spent most of yesterday working in the yard and my body is letting me it today. Moving a little on the slow side.

My card today is for the The Play Date Cafe challenge. I don't normally do such bright colors. I have to admit that I had a fun putting this card together.
I stamped the butterflies down the right side of my card front then fussy cut around them. I cut a small piece of orange card stock and attached it to the left side of my card base.  I then attached the card front to my card base with foam tape.

Here is this weeks challenge colors.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon,

More Rejects Put To Use

I'm back tonight to show you another card I made from my scraps/rejects. I had stamped the flowers back in November when I was working on these gifts. I stamped them too tall and the flowers ended up under the calendars. I found the butterfly in my drawer full of small rejects. Who knows how long I've had it. I know I stamped it with something but I can't remember what it was.

I cut the top of my reject calendar off and attached it to the top of my card base. This allowed me to add the piece of scrap striped paper to the bottom. Add a sentiment, strip of black and attach my butterfly...and done!

A Thank You From Rejects & Scrap

I don't know about you, but I keep every little scrap. So often I will start on a card and find that it's just not working. You know, you get that vision and they you sit down and...nope...not working. When this happens I keep the pieces I have started. I stack them up on the corner of my desk and hope that someday I"ll be able to used them. I sat down the other day and pulled out my stack. I decided I was going to make cards using pieces from it. I actually did really good. I managed to get 7 cards done and my stack is so much smaller.

Here is one of the cards I made. I've had the flowers done for about a month. I was on a roll and colored them when I was working on some for other card. About a week ago I attached them to the piece of cardstock and that's are far as that went. The striped paper was a piece of scrap from other card. All I had to do was attach all the pieces I already had, stamp the sentement and add the pearls. Finally...I have a complete card! Wow...a month to make one card..that's pretty sad..haha.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back soon with another card made from my left overs.

ColourQ #133

I'm back with this weeks ColourQ. The colors this week are amazing once again. I was looking around at Moxie Fab World the other day and came across this Tuesday Trigger image. I made another card using the colors from the image. I liked it so much, I made it again using this weeks colors. I think this makes a great masculine card.

To create the pattern I ran my paper through my Big Shot using PTI's Linen and Canvas Impression Plate before I stamped. I used my Mocron 03 pen to draw the lines. Then I used the large leaf from PTI's Beautiful Blooms II set.

retrosketches #7

I hope you have all have a wonderful weekend. We had a great one here! On Friday my hubby and I went with my brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law to see Neal McCoy. We had so much fun. There is a casino about 45 min. from us that he was playing at. None of us had ever been there..I know crazy right? Before the show my hubby put $5.00 in a nickel machine. After playing for almost an hour on it we cashed out at $126.00. Not too bad. I looked at him and told him that's stamping money. He told me that it was new video card for his computer money. Haha..he's so funny.

Okay enough about my weekend and on to my card for this weeks restrosketches challenge. This weeks sketch is another great one. I would have never come up with this on my own.

Here is my card.

I had so much fun putting this together. It was one of those that just flowed..love it when that happens.

Retro Sketches #6

I hope all of you are having a great week. We had a couple days of kinda sunny weather and now we're back to more rain. I guess one nice thing about the rain is I can't go outside so that means I get to craft :) I'm stopping in today with a card I did for this weeks Retro Sketch challenge. The sketch this week is another great one.

Here is my card.

I love doing these rolled flowers. You can't see it in the picture but the back is embossed with an argyle pattern.

ColourQ 132

It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another ColourQ challenge. This weeks colours are a little brighter then last weeks. Aren't they great!

cqc132

I had so much fun working with this weeks colours. They are so youthful and vibrant..perfect for a teenage boy. I don't know about you, but I find boy/masculine cards so difficult to make. My husband always has to tell me...no buttons, no twine and no ribbon for sure. Well heck, then what am I supposed to put on it...haha.

I hope you will join us this week at the ColourQ! Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the design team has created.

See you soon.

A Special Order

I hope all of you are having a nice Easter weekend. Tomorrow after church we are going to my parents house for dinner. My  mom told my daughter she is having a special easter egg hunt for us. We're all thinking plastic eggs with some cash in them:)

A few days ago I posted a card that my sister-in-law ordered for her daugher-in-law's birthday. She also ordered a couple of cards for two of her granddaughters. She has one turning 18 and one turning 5. Here are the cards I did for her.

I actually used my Cricut..haha. My husband is always telling me I never use it. This first one is for Gwynnie. I was told she loves purple and Minnie Mouse.

This one is for India. She love all things oriental. The font is Japanese and it says Happy Birthday India Rain.
See you soon,

Exciting News and ColourQ #131

I'm so excited to finally be able to tell you that Arielle has asked me to be part of the ColourQ Challenge design team. I love participating in this challenge each week and I am honored to be apart of this amazing team of talented ladies.

The colors this week are so beautiful and soft. They reminded me of Easter right away. When I think of Easter I always think of Tulips. I've had this cute Tulip set from PTI for awhile now and I finally got the chance to ink it up.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you'll join us this week!

Retro Sketches #5

It's time for another retroscketches challange. I loved this weeks layout when I first saw this card over at Soapbox Creations.

I work with my sister-in-law and she sent me an email on Friday asking for three birthday cards. She wanted each one personalized and gave me an idea of what she wanted for each card. For her daughter-in-law she said she liked quilts, flowers, dogs, chickens...very homespun. Here is what I came up with. The font is from Fonts For Peas. They have a very large selection of fonts created from people's handwriting. And the best part..they are free. I'll post the other two later in the week.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon.
