Get Well Flip Flops

This sweet little girl we know broke her big toe in not one..but two places. I never heard how it happened but I saw a picture and it looked like it hurt. Here is a fun little get well card I made for her. She is around nine so I kept the colors fun and bright..very girly.

The entire card front is attached to the card base with foam tape. I attached the flowers on the flip flops and the flip flops to the card with my dots. I didn't have any pink pearls so I colored them with a Copic marker.

Thanks for stopping by,

retrosketches #13

I'm here today with my card for this weeks retrosketches challenge. This weeks sketch had my mind working. I don't usually put anything at an angel so this was a stretch for me..haha. I can't even count the number of ideas I had that I couldn't get to look right. But I was determined to create something and I finally came up with this card.

How funny...now that I look at it I realize that this is the theme of my daughter's upcoming wedding next summer. She is doing purple and green with burlap and lace and her flowers are going to be hydrangeas. That's why I got this stamp set..we're going to be making her invitations and thank you cards and I thought this set was perfect. Once we get them designed I'll be posting them so be sure the watch for that.

I fussy cut the flower and leaves. And you know me...always have to add some dimension. The tag is attached with foam tap and the flower with my dots.

Here is this weeks sketch.
Thanks for stopping by.

JUGS #138

I'm stopping in today with a card I made for this weeks Just Us Girls challenge. For my card I pulled from the colors and the stripes in the inspiration photo.  I love these colors together and think it turned out pretty darn cute.

I embossed my card front with my new PTI Simple Stripes impression plate..love this one. It may just replace my Linen & Canvas as my favorite. For the stripes on the kraft paper I used DeNami's Three Line Boarder stamp with VersaMark ink.
I attached the card front to the card base with foam tape. I attached the baby blocks and the congrats block to my card using my dots. It's just enough to give them a touch of dimension.

Here is the inspiration photo.

A Stamp From My Past

Years ago...I mean years and years ago I used to stamp before I got into scrapbooking and then back into stamping. I had all kinds of stamps and over the years have cleared them out..gotta make room for the new :) I have a few that I've kept though and I pulled them out the other day...and made this card.

This daisy actually has a stem and leaves. I only wanted the flower so I did some selective inking. I added a touch of color to the center with a Copic marker. If you look really close at the card base you can see the swirls that I stamped with VersaMark. I also added some texture to the black paper. I attached the red and white blocks to my card base with my dots. Super quick and easy.

Thanks for stopping by,

Deanna Jean

A Rainbow Of Stripes

I'm stopping in with a really quick post for another card I made on my rainy day off. For this fun card I cut a piece of printer paper close to an inch wide. I taped it across my card front then stamped my lines. When you remove the printer paper you have a great white space for your sentiment. I use printer paper because it's thin. If you use card stock you won't get a good stamp along the edge of it. You can't see it in the photo but I added a score line on each side of the white space. I attached to card front to  my card base with my dots.

I'm seeing this stamp becoming a favorite. All you have to do it change the colors of ink and you'll get a totally different look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Simple Gift Set

Happy Friday! I took the day off work today so I could have a nice long 4 day weekend. I was going to spend the day in the yard...but the weather decided to turn and we have had rain on and off most of the day. So darn it...that ment I had to spend the day crafting. Don't you just hate when that happens..haha.

I created a set of 4 matching cards with some new DeNami stamps I got. I kept the theme the same but each card is different. I was able to make all 4 cards with only 2 stamps! I stamped the tree then colored in the leaves with a Copic marker. Then on all of the green paper I stamped the tree in VersaMark ink.

To finish off the set I created this simple bag to match. I was able to get all 4 cards and envelopes inside.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back soon with more.

PTI Blog Hop

Today is Papertrey Ink's monthly Blog Hop. The colors in this months inspiration photo are two of my all time favorite. You just can't go wrong with black and green.

For my card I used this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches from a couple of weeks ago. For the longest time I never used sketches...what was I thinking?? Talk about taking some stress out of the process.
You can kind of see the argyle embossing on the black paper in the photo. I attached the black cardstock to my card using my dots and the oval is attached with foam tape. I love using both because it adds so much dimension to my cards.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. I'm off to check out what everyone else has been creating.

Polka Dots Please

I love polka dots so when I saw this weeks challenge over at The Paper Players I was so excited. A few weeks ago I made this card and loved how the flowers turned out. I decided to do them again but change up the color some..thanks to the advice of my daughter. By the way, she just created a new blog..you should check it out here. She would love it if you stopped by. I also used this weeks sketch from retro sketches.

A couple of days ago we were at the store and I happen to walk through their very small craft section and found a Cuttlebug polka dot embossing folder. It's like it was ment to be:)

I gently ran my finger along the flower petals to give them a little curve and also put a light fold in the leaves. After I stamped the sentiment I used my pen and drew a couple of lines under it. I attached the flowers and the white panel to the card with my dots.

It's ColourQ Time!!

Happy Tuesday to all of you. It's time for a new colour palette over at the ColourQ. I was in need of an anniversary card for my parents. Their anniversary is in June and they will be celebrating 49 years. They are such a big inspiration to me. Here is the card I made for them.

For my flowers I did some masking. I have a die for this flower but it left too much white space around the edges so I cut the one flower out with my scissors. Then on the leaves I stamped them once and then stamped them again without re-inking.
I didn't have any ink that was right for the mustard color so I used my hole punch and made paper centers instead. I attached the white piece to my card base with my dots as well as one of the flowers.  If you look close you can see that I used my PTI Linen & Canvas Impression Plate on the kraft cardstock.

I hope you'll join us this week. As always, be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the design team has created.

See you soon,

Deanna Jean

Dynamic Duos & retrosketches

I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend. The sun is shinning and it's beautiful here. I'm stopping in with a card I did for this weeks retrosketches and Dynamic Duos challenges. Of course the sketch is amazing as always and this weeks colors are black and yellow.

Here is my card.

As you can see I turned the sketch sideways. I really wanted to use this sentiment and that was the only way I could get it to look right. You can't see it in the photo but I used my Diamonds Impression Plate from PTI on my black cardstock.

I attached the yellow piece to my card base using my dots to add some dimension to my card. Adding the dots also allows room for the ribbon so you don't get a bump from the thickness of it.

See you soon,

Freshly Made Sketches #35

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA the past few days. We sold our swimming pool and have been busy taking it down, cleaning it up and delivering it. Phew..so glad to have that done and out of the yard. We're going to put raised boxes for a garden in its place. We decided to take the day off from working in the yard so that ment I got to spend some much needed time in the Kloset. My card today if for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.

I cut my piece of paper 3 inches wide then stamped my image and cut it into one inch strips.

In place of a bow or a strip of paper like the sketch shows, I stamped my sentiment and then added the lines with my pen and ruler. I love how this turned out. Note to self..try this one again.
Here you can see how I used my Dots to add dimension. I attached each strip using them as well as the base the strips are on.

Retrosketches #11

Have I mentioned how much I love the sketches over at retrosketches? I used to sit down to make a card and kind of draw a blank. I would spend way too much time trying to come up with a layout for my card. Not anymore.

The other day I was playing around with my Alpha Block set from PTI when I was making this card. I'm one who always cuts out extras while I'm cutting. So while playing I changed up the way I put the word baby on my card to make it work for this weeks sketch.

I did selective stamping for the word Welcome. The stamp actually says Welcome Little One. In this picture you can see how I layered the card and added just a touch of dimension using my dots

Here is the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon,
