Happy New Year

I wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year. I don't have a New Years card to share, but I do have this fun and bright little number I made over the weekend.

I've had my eye on this die for awhile now. I added it to my Christmas wish list and was so happy to get it. In the picture it looks like I stamped a row of dots, but I didn't. I wish I would have mounted the card front with foam tape. I think that would have made a big difference.  And these flowers..in love and so fun to work with.

A Day Spent Crafting

Now that the holidays are behind me, and life has returned to its normal pace, I actually got a chance to play with my Christmas presents. I must have been a very good girl because I got all kinds of wonderfulness :) I laid it all out on my work station and sat there looking at it trying to figure out what I wanted to use first. For inspiration I went looking for a challenge to play along with and came across these great color over at ColourQ.

 

One of the things I love about acrylic stamps is that you can bend them. After I had my card assembled I worked with the sentiment stamp until I got the curve to the match the heart..love how it turned out.

Happy News

I'm so excited to finally be able to let you in on a little secret I've been keeping for the past couple of months. The super sweet Leslie has asked me to be on the design team for her new challenge The Card Concept.  

The challenges will last for two weeks, giving you lots of time to play along. There are 12 designers and 6 different styles. Each designer has her own style that she will create with for each challenge.

The styles are: 

Clean & Simple (CAS)..that my style

Clean & Layered

Clean & Graphic

Freestyle Collage

Shabby Chic

Classy & Elegant

The idea behind the challenge is to show you some of the different card making styles there are, to encourage you to try a new style, perfect your current style or maybe even just find a style. I know I struggled with finding my style for a long time. Once I finally figured out what I enjoyed making the most, my card making experiance go so much better. 

The first challenge will be Wednesday January 8th @ 5am PST or 8am EST.
