ColourQ 173 & Some Changes

As most of you know my daughter is getting married this summer, and we're doing everything ourselves.  I will also be losing my job at the beginning of May. The bank I work for has merged with another, and unfortunately they don't have a position for me. So, after 23 years in banking, and 17 with the same company, I have decided it's time for a change. I will be going back to school to purse a career in medical billing. Because of everything going on in my life, and the time needed for wedding planning and school, I had made to very hard decision to step down from the ColourQ design team. Then Arielle sent me a message asking me if I would rather stay and play along when time allowed...oh happy dance!! So, you will still see me around, just not every week.

Okay, enough about me...on to this week's ColourQ challenge.

Here is my card:

This card it totally different for me. I've seen so many cards like this and just love the look...so I thought I would give it a try. I had to improvise with my colors this week because I don't have half of these. It's amazing as many ink pad that I have you would like I would. I was still able to pull it together.I always put a sentiment on the front of my cards, but I couldn't find a place for one that looked right. Does it look okay without one?

Here are this week's colors:

As always thanks for stopping by.

Stamps: Papertrey Ink Turning A New Leaf & a set I got at Michael's (sorry I don't know the name of it.)
Ink: Papertrey Ink: Classic Kraft, Sweet Blush & Canyon Clay
Paper: Had on hand

  1. Best of luck Deanna as you start school! I love this card..the text background is so gorgeous.

  2. Wow that's quite a bit for you to process at the moment Deanna. I wish you all the best in your new career move and am happy you'll still be here at the ColourQ! Your card looks just fine without a sentiment, soft and sweet!

  3. Deanna your card for this week is really beautiful. The text background is so romantic! LOVE, and so happy you are sticking with the group but with flexibility, that is what you need right now.

  4. It's so hard when life actually gets in the way of crafting...I've experienced the same thing this year as I've gone back to school (thank goodness I don't have a wedding to deal with also!). But...be sure you still make time to craft - I'm getting less sleep but I ALWAYS feel better and more ready to deal with life after I have spent time immersed in colors and inks!! Deadlines can be hard and pressure you just don't need...but I'm glad you still get to drop into colourQ!!

  5. Your card is beautiful, Deanna. It makes me want to try a card like this also. You have lots going on....I wish you all the best. Glad you'll be able to stay with ColourQ when time permits.

  6. Your card is beautiful! Glad to hear that you will still do ColourQ when you have a chance. I always find your cards so inspiring. Sorry to hear that you will no longer have your job and I wish you the best as you transition to the billing field.

  7. Does it look ok without a sentiment? It looks fantastic! And we all did a happy dance when we found out you'll still be around!!

  8. Beautiful card! Wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors. :)

  9. Your card is just beautiful. Love the look, and don't even miss the sentiment. Good luck with school and the wedding planning.

  10. LOVE your card so sweet and elegant!!!

  11. Your card is so very soft and lovely, Deanna! It definitely looks all right w/o a sediment. I love a card that looks all right w/o one b/c you can use it for those last-minute, oops-I-need-a-card-now times!

You have a lot on your plate in 2013, don't you? Happy things and new beginnings. I wish you all the best with all the wedding doings and with the schooling towards pursuing a new career and I'm very pleased that we will still be seeing your beautiful work via ColourQ when time allows!

  12. Wow Deanna, so much going on! I am sorry to hear about you losing your job but excited for your new journey. I love your pretty card, I must try these colours, you have inspired me as always.
    Thinking of you.
    Hugs, Lesley
