Time To Cut Back

If you follow my blog you may have noticed I haven't been around much the last few weeks. After much thought and prayer, I have decided it was time to cut back. I have been on challenge design teams for the past year..at one time 5 at the same time. While I loved creating cards for these amazing challenges, I found that my crafting was starting to feel more like a job, and not a hobby. Every time I sat down to create it was for a challenge deadline. I missed being able to just sit and craft and not worry about what colors or sketch I needed to follow. I will however be on the Fusion team until the end of the month. Thank you all so much for support and kind comments. Not to worry..I will still be making cards and I will still be doing challenges..just as a participant instead :)

I do have a card to share too..not all sad news :) I actually sat down and played the other..just for fun!

I love these flowers from PTI. They are so fun to mix and match and layer.
I attached the flower centers with my dots and then bent the leaves up...super cute in person.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be seeing you all soon.

Blessings,
Deanna Jean

  2. I love your work and always look forward to what card creation you have to share with us all. However, it's no fun when it becomes a chore. We all get that. Relax. Get refreshed. I will still be watching your blog for new wonderfulness!

  4. I'm sure it was a very difficult decision, but a hobby really should be fun. There's too much stress in all of our real lives! I'm looking forward to all of the creations that will now be just yours!!

  5. Deanna you know I miss you already at colourQ, but I also love that we have connected outside of that. So of course my door is always open to chat with you about stuff--paper and life. I know you must be getting so excited about the wedding. Gorgeous card, obviously made from your heart.

  13. So happy that I will be seeing more of your beautiful creations. You are truly an inspiration to me. What a tough decision it must be, to resign from those positions most people only dream about, but I respect what you are doing. Have fun with your crafting and wedding planning, and I'll still be pinning you.

  18. I can understand exactly what you are saying. That is exactly why I didn't want to sign and be a demo (the BIG home party company) and just wanted to buy what I like and enjoy stamping. I am so glad to see your PTI card today because that is my weakness and I hope that you continue to post your creations. I have loved your cards and enjoy what you do so much. Enjoy yourself, and keep posting when you can please.

  20. As I get older, I find that I really want to live a happy life. There's enough hardship and trouble out there, but at least within the confines of my home and craft room, I want to be happy. If you're asking me, you did the right thing. Good for you! I'm so glad that we will still get to enjoy your creations-that you'll still be fun crafting. Looking forward to wedding photos. Only the best to you. Bev

  21. You have a wonderful clean and simple style, and I find myself using your cards as idea starters for my own. Enjoy the "down time"...we all need a breather every so often :) Don't you have a wedding coming up too? Enjoy your summer, and I'll be looking forward to whatever you post, whenever you can.

  22. Deanna, I'm glad to hear you're listening to your heart and giving yourself a bit of a breather. I always enjoy your creations, but I know they will be even more inspired when you're creating for fun, rather than for a deadline. I had to step away for a while myself, and I'm just starting to find my spark again. Hugs to you, and thanks for sharing this beautiful card!

  25. Awesome card! And kudos to you for making a decision that was right for YOU! It's never wrong to take a step back and take some weight off our shoulders. Life is demanding enough without those that we self-impose. Take some deep breaths and enjoy. I will still enjoy the inspiration you give me from any cards that you post for FUN!
