The Card Concept #2

Wow..what an amazing first challege we had at The Card Concept. Talk about some beautiful creations..you guys rocked it!! Thank you all so much for showing your support.

Week two is all about texture. I'll admit it now....I am so bad about adding texture to my cards. I have a bunch of impression plates but I never think to use them. So I pulled out my box and put it out where I can see them. Maybe this will encourage me to use them more :)

Here is my card:

Trust me I really did add texture to my card. I could not for the life of me get it to show up in my picture. I used the linen and canvas impression plate from PTI. It's a very suttle texture and I love it..but it doesn't photograph well. So you'll just have to trust me on this one :)

I really liked the colors in this week's photo so I wanted to incorporate them into my card. The white frame of the door really caught my eye. To get this look on my card I went with the large love die as my base to work off of. From there I added my flowers and the sentiment up the side. To get some more depth from the flowers I added a touch of color with a Copic marker.

This week's challenge:
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you can join us this week at The Card Concept. Be sure to head over there and see what the rest of the design team has created.

  2. Love the card! What is the card base you use? I like the idea of the white inner on a card from time to time.

  5. I have that impression plate too and you are so right...it is difficult to capture in a photograph the beautiful texture. I love how you used that cute new LOVE die cut and all the colors from the photo. I also really like how you stamped the sentiment vertically...cute idea.

  10. This is beautiful!!! Love the detail you added to the flower images. And I totally understand about that impression plate. I love using it (so I know the lovely texture you achieved), but it is super hard to photograph.
